$916 USD for our trans charities and foundations during the Trans Wizard Tournament.
I can't tell you how proud I am of fandom for pulling together on such a short timeline to create something so wonderful. Thank you to everyone who signed up to participate, all our bidders, those who signal-boosted, and those who donated time and energy to the tournament. Each and every one of you contributed to the success, and without you this never would have been possible. I'd once again like to extend extra thanks to queenofthyme, who has been such invaluable help during this whole process as my co-mod.
At this point in time, all creators and donors who have provided proof of donation can begin working together if you haven't already. Creators, once you have completed your work(s), you can post them to the AO3 Collection. This is not a requirement of participation, but I would encourage those who are willing and able to do so. You can post at anytime between now and October 31st, 2020 (the deadline for gifts to be created and presented to donors, unless otherwise discussed ahead of time). The collection will be unveiled on July 31st, 2020, as a gift to JKR, to show that not even her hatred can ruin what she created--it belongs to us now.
Creators, you are free to post on any other sites, but please do tag it with Trans Wizard Tournament and let us know, so we can signal boost your works!
I've had many questions about next year. With the amount of interest, and what we managed to accomplish just this year on such a short and hectic timeline, the short answer is yes, we will be doing the Trans Wizard Tournament again. Next year we'll have a much longer timeline to give everyone plenty of time to sign up and signal boost the auction, and a longer turn around between the end of auction and when the works will be unveiled so creators don't feel so rushed. Keep an eye here on dreamwidth and on the tumblr for information on that, which will likely be announced early in 2021.
Until then, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do let us know! Also, if anyone with any creative chops feels like creating any avatars or banners for the Tournament, that would be amazing.
